The MRT partnership was founded in 2007 by engineers Ryan Gleim, Tyler Sheffield, and Michael Shelly. We are based in Carlsbad, CA.

Ryan Gleim

Ryan achieved a B.S. in computer engineering and M.S. in electrical engineering from Cal Poly, SLO. For his master's thesis he worked on object detection using ultrasonics and statistical probability analysis. His main interests include robotics, distributed computing, digital control systems, and green technologies.

Ryan spent two and a half years in the communications industry working on information assurance components, tactical software defined radios, and satellite network communications at ViaSat, Inc. Since 2008, he has taken on new challenges in the medical industry contributing to ventilation technology advancements at Covidien. His professional experience includes work on several CPU architectures including PowerPC, TI OMAP, and Microchip. He is skilled in C/C++, RTOS development, device drivers, HW/SW integration, communication and HW interfacing, and application development.

Tyler Sheffield

Tyler has a B.S. in computer engineering from Brigham Young University and M.S. in electrical engineering from Cal Poly, SLO. His thesis work involved the development of a complete Simulink simulation, as well as applied software control system, for a solar power distribution system. Outside of solar energy, his interests include robotics, reconfigurable computing, and image processing.

He has spent the last three years in the communications industry working on information assurance components for satellite network modems at ViaSat, Inc. His professional experience includes logic design for Xilinx FPGAs, Linux device driver work for PowerPC core processors and Unix system security. He is skilled with Verilog/VHDL, C/C++, ModelSim, Xilinx ISE, MATLAB, Synplify, Uboot, and assembly languages.
